BLOOMINGTON – A local tradition dating back to 1951 returns to the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts this weekend.
For the Bloomington Kiwanis, the all-you-can-eat breakfast is more than flap jacks; proceeds send local children to Camp Limberlost.
“We have sponsored Camp Limberlost since 1930. It’s the longest running Kiwanis nationwide project,” Rusty DePew, the chair of the Pancake Days Committee told WJBC’s Scott Miller. “We have fourth and fifth graders who are selected from Unit 5 and District 87. The students go completely free of charge to the camp for a week. That’s out at Timber Point Camp.”
Attending the Pancake breakfast costs $10 at the door and $8 in advance.
Bloomington Kiwanis expects over 2,000 people to attend the two-day event on Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 a.m. until noon.
Advance tickets can be purchased at BloomingtonKiwanis.org.
