At least one person dead after deadly collision on I-74 in Woodford County

CARLOCK – At least one person is dead after a two-vehicle deadly collision on Interstate 74 near Carlock.

That’s the word from the Illinois State Police which said the collision occurred in the westbound lanes of I-74 near mile marker 117.5. That’s in Woodford County and near Carlock.

According to the preliminary investigation, two vehicles were involved. Westbound traffic is being diverted off the highway and onto U.S. Route 150.

State police said that as of 9 a.m., one person has been reported killed as a result of the traffic collision. However, the ISP spokesperson stressed that “this investigation is in its infancy and there is no additional information.

Updated travel advisories will be posted on our ISP Troop 4 Facebook page, the spokesperson said.
