Normal Police Assistant Chief graduates from FBI National Academy

NORMAL – One of the top cops at the Normal Police Department now has the backing of the Federal Bureau of Investigations.

NPD Assistant Chief Shane Hackman recently completed a 10-week course at the FBI National Academy.

The course provides law enforcement officials with coursework in forensic science, management sciences, intelligence theory, and terrorist mindsets.

“It has been an honor and a privilege to represent my agency during the 289th session of the FBI National Academy,” Asst. Chief Hackman said in a release. “I feel that this experience will enhance my abilities to serve the Town of Normal and provide resources for future professional collaborations.”

Asst. Chief Hackman’s class consisted of 197 students from 48 states and 21 countries.

Asst. Chief Hackman has been with NPD for 25-years and currently supervises the Operations Division.
