One dead after passenger vehicle collides with two semis on Interstate 55

MCLEAN COUNTY – One person is dead after a three-vehicle collision just north of where Interstates 55 and 74 merge, the Illinois State Police said.

According to state police, the collision occurred just after 12:30 p.m. at mile marker 158 on northbound I-55.

The collision involved two truck-tractor semi-trailers and a passenger vehicle, the state police said.

A person from the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead.

The left and middle lanes of Interstate 55 are shut down to allow the investigation to continue.

As the investigation is ongoing, there is no additional information, the state police said.
