BLOOMINGTON – Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church is sending out thanks for the support following extensive vandalism.
The 158-year-old church is now past the assessment phase and is moving towards the rebuilding and restoration phase.
The sanctuary, basement area, glass doors, sanctuary, hallways and furniture were all damaged at the West Bloomington church.
On Easter Sunday, the congregation began in-person services at Second Presbyterian Church.
“We’re thankful to God cause He’s still gives us opportunity to gather together,” said Dr. Timothy Harris, Senior Pastor. “And I’m expecting a great crowd of us to coming together on this Sunday, Resurrection celebration, High Holy Season. We’re just expecting a wonderful worship. And then we’re going to set ourselves up to thank God and celebrate highly when go back home.”

Mt. Pisgah will continue to hold worship services at Second Presbyterian located at 404 N Prairie St until it is back in its own building.
