BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington City Manager Tim Gleason has made it official and will be leaving his post to become the next city manger in Decatur.
Gleason served as city manager in Bloomington for the last six years after previously working in Decatur from 2015 to 2018.
As for the next steps filling his position in Bloomington, Gleason said he has been asked for his thoughts on potential candidates. He spoke with WJBC’s Scott Miller.
Gleason went on to say that deputy city manager Billy Tyus is not instered in the position – but deputy city manager Jeff Jurgens would be interested in filling the role. Ultimatley, the decision will be up to the Bloomington City Council.
Gleason is scheduled to start his job in Decatur on May 6.
