New circus show coming to Illinois State University

NORMAL – The Gamma Phi Circus at Illinois State University announced their 2024 production “The Magic of Musicals” is ready for public viewing later this month.

The performance starts at 7 p.m. on April 19 at ISU’s CEFCU Arena. The new act features “acrobatics and stunning displays of grace and flexibility” to the tune of classic musicals.

In addition, there will be two shows on April 20 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. A free children’s carnival with the purchase of a matinee ticket will be available at noon where kids can play games and get their faces painted.

Gamma Phi Circus was founded in 1929 and ranks as the oldest collegiate circus in the nation.

Alumni have performed for Cirque du Soleil, Disney Cruise Lines and Las Vegas.
