Connect Transit offering free rides for Earth Day

NORMAL – Connect Transit announced that they will not be charging passengers any fares on Earth Day, April 22.

According to a Connect Transit news release, anyone attending Earth Day events in Bloomington-Normal is encouraged to take advantage of free Connect Transit, Mobility, or FLEX rides to get to their events.

The release stated that personal vehicles are the largest contributor to most household’s carbon footprint, so using public transport is one of the easiest ways to lower your carbon footprint on Earth Day.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is also offering several tips on how people can lower their carbon footprint on its website.
