Woodford County authorities investigating Monday night crash on I-74

GOODFIELD – Authorities in Woodford County are investigating a crash that happened Monday night on Interstate 74 near Goodfield.

The Woodford County Sheriff’s office said they were called to the scene after witnesses said the vehicle crossed the median and opposite lanes of traffic and went into a lake. Deputies said the vehicle was travelling eastbound on I-74 and went into the lake near mile marker 111.

Authorities said the driver of the vehicle was a 20-year-old man. He was rescued from the car but had life threatening injuries and was life flighted to a local hospital.

The driver’s condition is unknown at this time and the crash is under investigation.
