PEORIA – A Normal man faces up to 30 years in prison after being charged in connection with a shooting last fall in Central Peoria.
Marquise J. Patterson, 20, faces charges of aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in connection with the Nov. 26, 2023, shooting in 1100 block of West Hanssler Place. That’s about two blocks west of Castle Patio Inn.
The indictment was not detailed. It said only that Patterson allegedly shot the person with a gun and caused an injury. The other charge allegedly he was illegally carrying the weapon without a state-issued FOID card.
He will next appear in court today to be arraigned on the charges.
A judge previously ordered that he be held pending the outcome of his case.
