One displaced after two mobile home fires in Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Fire Department responded to two mobile home fires near Seventh Street and Avenue A on Saturday.

According to the Bloomington Fire Department, crews arrived on the scene at about 6:36 p.m. and found thick black smoke and fire coming from the side of a mobile home. The heat from the flames ignited the mobile home next door.

The first crew to arrive requested a box alarm, which called more crews to the scene to help extinguish the fire.

All residents evacuated before fire crews arrived. No injuries have been reported. One person was displaced by the fire, and the Red Cross was notified to assist.

The cause of the fire and the estimated amount of damage is currently undetermined.
