Coroner identifies two people from Wednesday morning shooting in Normal

NORMAL – The McLean County Coroner’s Office has identified the two people who died in a shooting early Wednesday in northeast Normal.

The coroner identified 46-year-old Matthew Moore of Bloomington and 48-year-old Amy Moore of Normal. Police say this incident is being investigated as a domestic homicide.

According to Normal police, Matthew Moore illegally entered the residence in the 3000 block of Red Jasper Street. Police say it’s believed Matthew confronted Amy before allegedly shooting her multiple times – then he shot himself. The investigation is still pending.

Amy Moore was a teacher at Groove Elementary.
