BLOOMINGTON – District 87 is sponsoring a Summer Food Service Program which offers free lunch to anyone ages 18 under.

These lunches will be available weekdays in the Children’s Department at the Bloomington Public Library. Melissa Robinson with the BPL says the program runs from June 3 to August 9.

“Lunches will be available from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on weekdays in the Children’s Department. Those older than 18 years old may purchase a lunch for $3.50,” Robinson told WJBC.

All lunches will contain a meat or meat alternate, grain, vegetable, fruit, and milk.

There will be no lunch service on the following holidays, Juneteenth (June 19) and Independence Day (July 4).

The Summer Food Service Program is funded through the USDA.
