According to a news release, Martin was headed west on the interstate and, for some reason, crossed over the median, went into the eastbound lanes, and collided with a semi head-on.

The collision occurred near the Pinecrest exit.

Martin was part owner of Dairy Queen and Monical’s Pizza in Clinton.

Preliminary autopsy results indicate Martin died from multiple blunt force injuries sustained during the accident.

The crash remains under investigation by Illinois State Police and the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office.
