BLOOMINGTON – Just ahead of Father’s Day, prices at the pump are $0.13 per gallon lower over the past week.
In a survey of over 4,300 stations in Illinois, the average gas price is $3.76 cents a gallon.
GasBuddy says prices stand $0.20 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
“We’ve seen one of the larger weekly drops in the national average price of gasoline in some time, and what incredible timing that it comes at the beginning of the summer driving season,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
Not only have gasoline prices plummeted in nearly every state in the last week, but nearly every state has also seen prices drop compared to a month ago. With the declines, Americans will spend roughly $425 million less per week on gasoline than a year ago.”
The national average price of gasoline has been down $0.10 cents per gallon over the past week, averaging $3.40 cents per gallon today.
Prices at the pump are down $0.23 per gallon from a month ago across the nation.
