Bloomington crash leaves one dead

BLOOMINGTON – A Tuesday morning crash involving a motorcycle and pick-up truck left one man dead in Bloomington.

According to a Bloomington police news release, it was a little before 8 a.m. when officers were dispatched to the intersection of Center and Bissell Street near Miller Park.

The injuries were severe, and the McLean County Accident Reconstruction Team was called in. The motorcycle driver, a 28-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the news release.

An autopsy is pending.

“The loss of life is always tough to experience for family and friends, as well as for our officers. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family in their time of loss,” said Chief Jamal Simington. “A reminder to all users of the highway system, always practice safe and responsible driving habits.”
