Normal Police probing two separate shootings over holiday weekend

NORMAL – Authorities in Normal are probing two separate shootings during the July 4th holiday.

In the first incident, NPD said officers responded to Payne Place around 12:30 a.m. for a report of multiple gunshots heard in the area.

Once on the scene, authorities found evidence of a shooting, but there was no injuries or damage to any cars or homes.

In a separate case, NPD responded to the two-hundred block of W. Willow St. for a shooting.

Police say there were no injuries or damage during the shooting.

Both shootings are under investigation by the NPD Criminal Investigations Division.
