BLOOMINGTON – As drivers return from a holiday vacation, gas prices are down nearly $0.06 in the past week.

In a survey of over 4,300 stations, GasBuddy found that the average price of a gallon of gas is $3.76.

Compared to this time last year, prices at the pump are $0.06 per gallon lower than a year ago.

The cheapest station in Illinois is just over $3.00 a gallon, while the most expensive is over $5.00 a gallon.

On the national stage, the average price of unleaded is up nearly $0.04 per gallon from a month ago and $0.05 per gallon lower than a year ago.

The national average stands at $3.52 a gallon.
