FAIRBURY – A mobile home in rural Fairbury became caught on fire on Friday evening.
According to Fairbury Fire Chief Josh Hoselton, the building was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived at 6:45 p.m. Due to the home’s remote location, no one saw the flames until the fire was well underway.
Fairbury Fire Department alongside the Pontiac and Forrest Fire Departments spent two hours fighting the flames. They didn’t clear out till 8:45 p.m.
The home was empty at the time of the fire. No injuries have been reported.
As of now, the cause remains under investigation.
