OSF HealthCare announces retirement of central region CEO

PEORIA – OSF HealthCare announced Thursday that Bob Anderson, central region chief executive officer for the company, will retire next year.

According to a press release from the healthcare company, Anderson is a vital member of the OSF HealthCare team, designing and constructing several of OSF Saint Francis’ projects. The projects include the system lab building, the OSF Center for Health – Knoxville Avenue, the behavioral health ambulatory building, the Learning Academy and the cancer institute.

Anderson initially joined the company in the 80s’ as a student in the Clinical Labortary Science program. The program led him to pursue leadership roles within the department, including director from 1987-2005, according to the release.

His leadership career continued over the years to include chief operating officer and then president for OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, followed by chief executive officer for the central region since 2022.

“It has been an honor and a joy for me to serve this organization and this community in various roles and capacities. I’m proud of the achievements and accomplishments that we have made together. Thank you to all who have been part of my journey at OSF HealthCare,” Anderson said in a retirement announcement to OSF Mission Partners employees.

Anderson’s retirement will be effective Jan. 3, 2025.
