NORMAL – The Susan G. Komen foundation announced on Monday the 2024 MORE THAN PINK Walk is coming to the Twin Cities in September.
According to a Susan G. Komen news release, the Sept. 7 event at the Corn Crib is open to survivors and supporters alike who want to help raise funds for breast cancer patients and research.
“We are thrilled to welcome the community to the Bloomington/Normal MORE THAN PINK Walk this year, where together we can make a profound impact in the fight against breast cancer,” said Jordan Clum, executive director.
“Supporting individuals in our community who are facing breast cancer is essential to our mission, but we cannot do it alone. This year’s Walk is not just an event; it is a pivotal moment to secure vital funds that will make equitable care available to all. We hope you can join us as we take a powerful stand against this devastating disease.”
According to their news release, roughly 11,870 Illinois women will receive a breast cancer diagnosis and 1,680 will die to breast cancer in 2024 alone.
Anyone who is interested can register on their website. Even organizers hope to raise $85,000 in funds.
