LEROY – A Plainfield, Indiana, man remains behind bars in McLean County after being arrested in LeRoy.
On Monday, LeRoy Police received information that a suspect wanted on a felony warrant was believed to be staying in LeRoy with his two young daughters.
LeRoy police found Evan Smith, 39, at the Holiday Inn in LeRoy and began surveillance of the hotel room.
According to a news release, LeRoy police arrested Smith on an outstanding warrant for felony domestic battery.
The two juveniles were found safe and were taken into protective custody by the LeRoy Police Department and the Department of Children and Family Services.
Smith remains in the McLean County jail until he is extradited to the Hendricks County jail.
