TAZEWELL COUNTY – Flu symptoms are hitting the greater Peoria area sooner than usual.
Doctors cite the main cause due to changes in seasons and exposure to new germs.
Tazewell County Health Department’s Health Education Specialist said washing your hands and listening to your body are the key ways to stay ahead of catching the flu.
“We really recommend that everybody’s washing their hands as often as possible. Then vaccinations. Anybody six months or older, we recommend getting that flu vaccination and making sure you’re protecting yourself and others,” JD Raucci said.
Some symptoms to be on the lookout for are headaches, fever, and nausea.
