Watterson Towers under boil order after water main break

NORMAL – A boil order is in effect for the residents of Watterson Towers after a water main break Wednesday night.

According to the town of Normal, the water was off while repairs were made to the water main near North and Fell Streets.

The water main was repaired at about 2:17 a.m. Thursday, but the boil order remains in effect.

The town is working with Illinois State University to keep the students updated on the situation.

According to Redbird-Housing, a limited amount of bottled water will be available for students at the front desk in Watterson.

The water main break did not impact the dining commons area in the towers.
