Bloomington man sentenced to over a decade behind bars for 2023 shooting

BLOOMINGTON – A McLean County Judge handed down a 15-year prison sentence to an 18-year-old Bloomington man for a shooting that took place in 2023.

Last March, shots rang out in the 700 block of W. Orlando Ave., injuring two people.

Both victims received treatment and were later released from the hospital.

Earlier this year, Colin Simpson pled guilty to charges related to the shooting.

In return for his guilty plea, McLean County Prosecutors dismissed murder charges.
