EL PASO – A two-car crash near Kappa Monday claimed the life of 62-year-old Donna Guenther, of El Paso.

Woodford County Coroner Tim Ruestman says the crash happened on Illinois Route 251 just before 7:00 a.m.

Guenther was driving in a Jeep South bound and the other vehicle, a GMC truck, was driving in the norther bound lane when the crash happened. The Coroner says the impact forced the Jeep to roll over, and Guenther was ejected from the SUV.

The Illinois State Police responded to the wreck to 6:56 a.m. Guenther was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck’s driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
