LEXINGTON – The Illinois State Police has closed Interstate 55 exits in Lexington, saying there was a shooting there Thursday morning.
According to the state police, the shooting occurred at a gas station within the north-central McLean County city.

“Exits from I-55 to Lexington are being closed at this time and the public should seek alternative routes,” the state police said in an email, adding there was “no threat to the public.”
A WMBD crew saw barricades at PJ Keller Highway and Old Route 66 in Lexington
The state police declined to give further details, saying they would release more information at at later time.
