Woman dead after crash near LeRoy

LEROY – McLean County Coroner Kathleen Yoder said LeRoy woman is dead after a traffic accident that occurred Wednesday.

The coroner said Brooke Powell, 37, died from multiple blunt injuries due to a car vs. pickup truck collision that occurred on U.S. Route 136 near 2400 East Road during Wednesday’s icy and slick roadway conditions.

Yoder stated Powell was the only occupant of the car.

The driver of the pickup truck was taken to a local hospital. That person’s condition wasn’t immediately known.

This incident remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police and the McLean County Coroner’s Office.
