PONTIAC – A 19-year-old Pontiac man was arrested late Thursday for allegedly shooting at a vehicle.
Jayden Turner-Jackson is being held in custody pending formal charges. He was arrested on charges that included aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm in connection with the incident late Thursday in the 400 block of East Wabash Avenue in Pontiac.
According to police, officers were called to the area at about 11 p.m. on a report of a person being threatened. While talking with the person, officers learned that another agency had received a report earlier Thursday about a vehicle being struck by gunfire.
The description of the alleged shooter appeared to match the appearance of the person who had called in the threats, in this case, Turner-Jackson.
Officers found two .38-caliber shell casings at the scene of the shooting. That matched the report of two shots fired. A Ruger LCP .380-caliber pistol was allegedly found at Turner-Jackson’s home.
The gun had its serial number defaced. Moreover, police said, Turner-Jackson didn’t have a FOID card.
