BLOOMINGTON – A restaurant located along Veterans Parkway near Clearwater Avenue seeks to move a little bit south to build a stand-alone structure in the parking lot of Eastland Mall.
It was revealed during a Bloomington Planning Commission meeting Wednesday that Outback Steakhouse, now at 1409 N. Veterans Parkway in Lakewood Plaza, wants to build at the northeast corner of Veterans and Empire, not far from the shuttered Macy’s department store.
The Planning Commission unanimously recommended the Bloomington City Council approve Outback’s site plan.
The plan calls for the removal of approximately 109 parking spaces, which city staffers say is insignificant because the mall would still have 36-hundred spaces.
