Dorothy Ball

Dorothy Lorene Ball, 94 of Bloomington, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 5:06 a.m. at the Heritage Health Care in Normal.

Dorothy’s service will be held on Wednesday, November 15 at 1 p.m. at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington with Pastor Jason Collins officiating. Following the service burial will be held at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Community Cancer Center, Normal.

Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy was born on May 5, 1923 in Bloomington. She is the daughter of Benjamin Robert and Janie Lorene (Turner) Smock. She married Jesse Alvin Ball on May 17, 1941 in Downs. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1984.

She is survived by her son; Dennis (Shelia) Ball of Bloomington, her grandson; Taylor Ball of Bloomington and 3 great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents and 5 brothers.

Dorothy worked as a retail worker at several businesses throughout Bloomington. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and was an avid collector of many things.

Dorothy will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.
