Governor Rauner talks farming industry, highlights Brandt deal

CHICAGO – Governor Bruce Rauner addressed the Illinois Farm Bureau recently in Chicago for the organization’s annual meeting, voicing support for the farming industry.

Rauner stressed his support especially in declaring the harvest season emergency this fall, allowing farmers to exceed weight limits of soybean and corn crops during transport.

The Governor also emphasized the importance of canadian agricultural company Brandt in McLean County and how it will bring agricultural jobs to Illinois.

Going forward Rauner said his focus is to make Illinois, “the headquarters of the world for agriculture products, food, agriculture equipment, and manufacturing.”
