Jack Dennis Danaher, 84 of Bloomington, Ill., passed away on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017 at 7:28 a.m. at the McLean County Nursing Home, Normal, Ill.

Jack’s memorial mass will be held on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bloomington with Father Joe Baker officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Bloomington-Normal American Legion Honor Guard. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 15, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington and also on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic School, Advocate Home Hospice Service or charity of the donor’s choice.

Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jack was born on March 12, 1933 in Carter, S.D. He is the son of Edward Joseph and Clara Sylvia (Ericksen) Danaher. He married Rosemary Tamborello on Aug. 14, 1993 in Levenworth, Kansas.

He is survived by his wife Rosemary, his step children; Sally (David) Bobier-Hymes of Placerville, Calif., George (Jan) Bobier of Tenn., Blake (Stacia) Sterzinger of Bloomington and Paul (Janene) Sterzinger Tamborello of Clackamas, Ore., eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren who knew him as “Papa Jack.”

He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.

Jack served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War as an Air Craft Mechanic from 1952-1972. After serving in the military he went to school at Northern Michigan University graduating in 1976 with his bachelors degree in Industrial Psychology. He then went to work for the Stimi Plant as a mechanic/manager and he later worked as a bus driver in Lansing, Kan. retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Cursillo Movement in September 2009 and the Monday Night Bible Study Group.

Charles Robert Russow, 79, of Pontiac, formerly of Cornell, passed away at 11:22 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017 at Good Samaritan Home in Pontiac, Ill.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017 at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Pontiac. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017 at the funeral home with Rev. Ed Hudelson officiating of the Cornell Community Lutheran Church. Burial will follow services at Cornell Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Cornell Community Lutheran Church or the Livingston County Cancer Fund.

Chuck was born January 26, 1938 in Streator, Ill. a son of Charles E. and Rosemary (Bayer) Russow. He married Nancy Schuler on February 9, 1958 in Streator and were together nearly 60 years.

He is survived by his wife: Nancy of Pontiac; Five sons: Charles James (Brenda) of Pontiac, David (Julie) of Cornell, Steven (Stacey) of Bloomington, Paul (Jana) of Pontiac, and Mike (Kathy) of Cornell; his grandchildren: Jamie and Jason Russow, Kurt (Katie) Russow, Jackie (Justin) Fry, and Kate, Emily, Samantha, and Lauren Russow. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Chuck was born and raised in the Streator-Cornell area, settling in Cornell where he and his wife, Nancy, farmed and raised their family. He enjoyed farming with his boys and spending time as a family working.

He served our country through the Army National Guard and was a lifetime member of the Am Vets and the Farm Bureau. Chuck was also on the Cornell Grade School Board and the CARES Ambulance Board for 33 years. He was the first treasurer for the Cornell Community Lutheran Church. In his younger years, Chuck liked to play fast-pitch softball and was involved with 4-H for himself and with his boys. He also liked to go deer hunting with the fellows and neighbors.

Above all else, family was important to Chuck. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, and friend who will be greatly missed.
