Martin leaves Illinois State basketball team

NORMAL – Illinois State head men’s basketball coach Dan Muller has announced that Jerron Martin has stepped away from the basketball team.

“Jerron let us know that he is removing himself from the basketball team,” said Muller in a news release. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Muller said on Monday Martin had been suspended from the team for violating team rules.

Martin played in 10 games during the season and scored 20 points with 11 assists and seven rebounds.

The Redbirds travel to take on the Evansville Aces on Saturday in a 1 p.m. tip-off.
