Woman in critical condition after crash near Deer Creek

TAZEWELL COUNTY – A young woman is in critical condition after a crash near Deer Creek Wednesday. 

Deer Creek Fire Rescue and the Eureka-Goodfield Fire Protection District worked to remove her from the vehicle.

According to updates on a CaringBridge site, that driver was Jamie Schick. She was taken by LifeFlight to OSF Saint Francis Hospital. According to her Facebook profile, Schick is an employee at the hospital. 

A post on the CaringBridge site says Schick has undergone surgery, but still has internal bleeding, among several other injuries.
