ATLANTA, GA. – Amid sickness within the Illinois Wesleyan Titans (9-3) squad, a late second half push helped the Titans secure the win over Birmingham-Southern (3-8) 81-74.

Last minute scratches to the Titans lineup forced main scores to the bench, but the Titans bounced back outscoring BSC 43-36 at half.

Backed behind five of the 10 IWU three pointers, IWU senior guard Brady Rose helped the Titans down the stretch as BSC clawed their way back in the second half.

IWU lead BSC by nine with 9:48 left in the second half, then the Titans defense forced turnovers to secure their first win the Emory Classic Tournament.

IWU senior guard Brady Rose led the Titans with 26 points and four assists in the win over BSC.

The Titans finished the Emory Classic (1-1).

IWU will take on Augustana College at the Shirks Center on the campus of IWU on Jan. 3 at 7 p.m. WJBC.com will have the call with pregame beginning at 6:50 p.m.

Pritzker, recall another Illinois Governor who protested the incursion of armed federal personnel into the city.   Those federal troops, rather than calming, escalated the situation, leading to deaths and violence. Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

In these troubled times, to my fellow white Americans

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
