WAUKESHA, Wis. – After heading into the locker room tied, Illinois Wesleyan’s three-point fire power helped the No. 24 Titans (14-3, 7-1) push past the Pioneers of Carroll (5-12, 1-7) 82-70 in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin game at Van Male Fieldhouse.
The first half featured a back-and-fourth affair as the Titans jumped out to an early 22-21 lead with 6:13 left by a short jumper from senior Brady Rose, who scored 13 first-half points. The Pioneers clawed their way back in the final minutes of the first half scoring on a three pointer from Carroll’s Troy Howat to tie the game at 37 at halftime.
The Titans came out of the locker room hot quickly jumping on a 48-37 lead backed behind a three pointer from junior guard Colin Bonnett with 16:21 left in the second half. Senior guard Brady Rose led the Titans to a 11-0 scoring run with with 14:51 left in the second half. Junior guard Jason Gregoire helped the Titans down the stretch by knocking in two late three point shots to secure the 82-70 win over Carroll.
Senior Brady Rose led the scoring for the Titans with 27 points and dished out four assists.
The Titans who captured their fifth-straight CCIW win, continue CCIW play on Wednesday against Elmhurst at R.A. Fagenal hall at 7 p.m.
