BLOOMINGTON – The most important game plan this Super Sunday might just be how you get to and from your Super Bowl party.
It’s actually true that there are more car wrecks during the Super Bowl, according to Bloomington Police spokesman Elias Mendiola. He said all holiday weekends see an increase because there are more cars on the road and more alcohol consumption.
Mendiola explained it is possible for someone to be liable for a crash even if they are not on the road.
“Anyone that is hosting can be liable if you’ve served someone that evening and they end up getting into a drunk and driving crash,” Mendiola added.
Mendiola suggests designating a sober driver and taking advantage of cab and ride share services.
