Loyola Hintzman

Loyola F. Valley Hintzman, of Bloomington, passed away at 2:40 a.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018 at her home at the age of 95.

Her funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at St. Patrick Church of Merna, Bloomington with Rev. Michael Pica officiating.  Entombment will be in Park Hill Mausoleum, Bloomington. There will be no visitation.  Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Clare House, St. Patrick Church of Merna or OSF Hospice.

Loyola was born August 12, 1922 in Cloquet, Minnesota, the daughter of George and Ida Paya Valley.  She was joined in marriage to Arnold M. Hintzman, Jr. on December 27, 1947 at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He died on December 14, 1996.

She is survived by five sons and two daughters, Mary (Gary) Goranson of The Villages, FL, David (Ardyth) of Mukilteo, WA, Mark (Linda) of McKenzie, TN, Renee of Anchorage, AK, Peter (Jayne) of Bloomington, Kurt (Susan) of Bloomington and Ross (Amy) of Rockford; fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers including her twin brother and two sisters.

Loyola was a member of St. Patrick Church of Merna.  She was a lifetime auxiliary member and volunteer at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center.  She also was a member of the Occupational Development Unit Auxiliary.

Loyola will be remembered for her love of her family, her faith and compassion and kindness towards others.

Elizabeth Stanton

M. Elizabeth Stanton, 96, of Normal, passed away at 1:48 p.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington with Rev. Randy Reese officiating.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.

Elizabeth was born May 28, 1921 in Chicago, the daughter of John and Flora Marie Taylor Hufton.   She married Edward Allan Stanton, Jr on February 14, 1942 in Chicago.  He preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Edward Allan (Exal) Stanton, III of Arvada, CO and a daughter, Margo (Ronald) Johnson of Downers Grove; four grandchildren, Joe Ricco, Charmaine Ricco, Edward Stanton, IV and Christopher Stanton; seven great grandchildren, Jonathan Ricco, Madison Ricco, Danny Ricco, Nicholas Sanchez, Eleanor Stanton, Allan Stanton and Hudson Stanton.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and David, a sister, Alice and a great grandson, Paul Sanchez.
