PONTIAC – The Livingston Family Care Center is continuing its mission to help uninsured adults in the county.
Board member Chris Myers said the center was created for those adults to be able to get the health services they need.
“Health insurance is very, very costly and not everybody can afford it depending on what kind of job they hold,” Myers said. “It’s less costly for them to pay the (tax) fine than to have health insurance. This is just a clinic that was founded years ago to provide what service we can with what we have.”
The Livingston Family Care Center is a not-for-profit organization run strictly by donations, which they are currently accepting. Cash, office items or hygiene items can be dropped off at 305 W. Madison St. in Pontiac.
