Olivia Sonetz
Olivia Rose “Livi” Sonetz, 17, of Bloomington, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 17 at Eastview Christian Church with Rev. Matt Fogle and Deacon Joe Knapp officiating. Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, March 16 at the church.

Livi was born June 13, 2000 in Normal, the daughter of Paul P. and Laura L. Golden Sonetz.
She is survived by her parents, a sister, Ellie Sonetz, a brother, Will Sonetz; paternal grandmother, Mary Ann Sonetz of Aurora; maternal grandparents, Vernon and Sharlyn Golden of Bellflower; paternal aunt and uncles, Louis L. (Rebecca) Sonetz, Jr of Montgomery, and their children, Christopher and Madeline; Chris (Meredith) Sonetz of Aurora and their children, Luke, Jake and Jaclyn Sonetz; Kim (Dave) Johnson of Montgomery and their children, Emma, Andrew and Thomas Sonetz; and a maternal uncle, Brent (Kristin) Golden of Mahomet and their children, Nick and Jackson Golden; her best friend/”sister”, Madison Edwards; a large extended family and her dog, Rosie.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Louis John Sonetz.
Livi attended Unit 5 Schools, including Carlock Elementary, Parkside Junior High and Normal West High School. She was a great athlete and participated in many sports, including volleyball, basketball and softball in junior high and high school. She even wrestled one year in high school. Livi also participated in travel soccer and softball and was a member of the BNGSA. She excelled in softball and had earned a scholarship to play at Heartland Community College.
Livi was extremely involved at Normal West High School and participated in their freshman mentoring program and helped teach in the preschool program, “Educating Young Children.”
Livi loved the outdoors and was an extremely social teenager, always enjoying time with others. She also enjoyed her downtime and could, at times, spend a day on the couch. She was a wonderful daughter, granddaughter, sister and friend whose infectious smile will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. Livi once tweeted “You Just Gotta Trust God’s Plan.” #LIVEFORLIVI
