BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington High School marked spring signing day on Wednesday by holding a ceremony to honor 13 student athletes who signed their National Letters of Intent.
Olivia Falls plans to continue her basketball career at Eureka College.
“I loved how close it was to home, and the coach (Amos Arbogast) he recruited me heavily and I loved the fact that he actually cared and he put in the time to talk to me,” Falls said.
Brooke Misukonis plans to pole vault at Murray State.
“I love the coaches at Murray State and just the all-around vibe that I got from the team (made it) the number one choice,” Misukonis said.
Bailey McGill will run track at Grand Valley State in Allendale, Mich.
“It was really a perfect fit I just love the campus, love the team and loved the coach,” McGill said. “It just all came together.”
Alex Otto plans to golf at Blackhawk College in Moline.
“I want to pursue business administration and finance and this is the perfect place for me,” Otto said.
Megan Varney has earned a bowling scholarship to attend University of St. Francis in Joliet.
“I think it’s really important because it shows other girls that do bowling that they can also do it and also further their education and help themselves with it,” Varney said.
