Ex-ISU AD Zenger fired at Kansas

LAWRENCE, Kansas – Former Illinois State athletics director Sheahon Zenger has been fired as Athletic Director at Kansas.

Zenger had been the AD there since 2011 when he left ISU. Kansas Chancellor Douglas Girod posted a message online that ‘progress in key areas’ of the athletic department ‘has been elusive.’

Zenger signed a four-year contract extension last year, before Girod became chancellor. He served as ISU’s Director of Athletics from 2005 to 2011.

The Associated Press reports Zenger will be paid $1.4 million under that contract.
