Terry Lee Pickett, 74, of Chenoa, passed away at 12:11 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2018 at Advocate Bromenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa. At the family’s request, casual attire is suggested for the visitation. Cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of Terry’s life will follow at a later date.
Mr. Pickett was born February 15, 1944 in Chenoa, a son of Clifford P. and Zazel Belle Ross Pickett. He married Nancy Grider on August 7, 1964 in Chenoa. She survives in Chenoa.
Also surviving are two sons, Robert (Beverly) Pickett of Chenoa and John (Angie) Pickett of Pontiac; eight grandchildren, Abbie Mullins, Joseph Kauffman, Jordan Pickett, Nicholas Kauffman, Haley Pickett, Liam Pickett, Keely Pickett, and Brynn Pickett; two brothers, Kenneth (Ellen) Pickett of Bloomington and Paul (Barb) Pickett of Winter Haven, FL; and one sister, Pat (Darrel) Shoop of Pontiac.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty Smith.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Terry was a 1962 graduate of Chenoa High School and was a service technician for GTE and Verizon for 34 years in the Pontiac area. He was a very hardworking guy who never knew a stranger and was liked by everyone. Terry always found time for a round of golf with his friends. He loved his family and friends who will miss him deeply.
