PHOENIX – State Farm is placing its name on another stadium.

The Bloomington-based insurance company and the Arizona Cardinals announced Tuesday an 18-year agreement naming the home of the National Football League team State Farm Stadium.

More details were expected during a news conference later Tuesday in Phoenix.

The company announced a 20-year agreement last week that renamed the renovated home of the National Basketball Association’s Atlanta Hawks as State Farm Arena. Atlanta and Phoenix are two of the three regional hubs for State Farm.

The Cardinals’ stadium in Phoenix opened in 2006 and until now had been known as University of Phoenix Stadium.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
