Rauner offers helping hand in administration transition

SPRINGFIELD – He’s unhappy he lost the election, but Gov. Bruce Rauner says he has incentive to make the transition to the new JB Pritzker administration a positive one.

“My immediate predecessor did the exact opposite,” Rauner said, not going into specifics about former Gov. Pat Quinn. “I learned what not to do.”

Rauner continued, “Our team is A-plus. They are A-plus. We are doing a proactive, positive, supportive transition, educating the incoming folks to the maximum of our ability. Making sure everything is teed up for them, so they can hit the ground running. Explaining challenging problems to them so they will know what they are going to be dealing with so they can anticipate.”

Rauner said it was his idea to have Pritzker on stage with him at Illinois’ Bicentennial celebration Monday in Chicago.

The inauguration of Pritzker and the other statewide officeholders is Jan. 14 in Springfield.
