BLOOMINGTON – Ward 8 Alderman candidate Travis Wilson announced Tuesday evening he is no longer in the running for the seat representing Bloomington’s southeast side.
In a statement, Wilson says while he thinks he met the requirements for seeking the position, it was brought to his attention that he’s fallen a few weeks short of the requirements for living within his ward.
Wilson, a former city firefighter and paramedic, wished Ward 8 candidate Jeff Crabill good luck, adding he hopes Crabill will fight for what is right, be a good steward of citizens’ tax money, and continue to make the city of Bloomington a great place to live.
“It is disappointing that the residents of Ward 8 will not be able to have a choice when it comes to elections, but I believe elections should be run according to the law, and I do not wish to hinder that process,” Wilson said.
Crabill is now the only candidate on the ballot to replace Alderman Diana Hauman, who’s not seeking re-election.
