ORLANDO – University of Central Florida jumped out to a big lead and never relinquished it as the Knights defeated Illinois State men’s basketball 77-56 on Friday night.

UCF (10-2) led 43-18 at halftime as ISU (7-6) shot only 29.2 percent from the field including 2-of-12 from three-point range. Keyshawn Evans and Phil Fayne were the only double-figure scorers for the Redbirds with 10 points each.

The Redbirds head into Missouri Valley Conference play after a 12-day break beginning with a visit to Valparaiso on Jan. 2.
