NORMAL – Destihl Brewery is introducing its newest beer on Saturday, an Irish-style stout, to help raise money for Special Olympics and the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run.
The official unveiling of the “Inclusion” beer happens Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m at the brewery at 1200 Greenbriar Dr. in Normal.
Inclusion is said to be medium-bodied with a dry finish, featuring aromas and flavors from roasted malts, and hints of caramel, chocolate, and coffee.
Inclusion is being sold on draft and in six-packs to go.
A portion of Saturday’s proceeds from Inclusion sales will benefit police charities and people with intellectual disabilities who participate in Special Olympics.
Destihl first opened for business in Normal in 2007. Illinois Special Olympics headquarters are also located in Normal.
Inclusion will be distributed exclusively in Central Illinois and sold at all Destihl locations.
Meantime, Destihl announced earlier this week it’s signed a lease agreement to build a stand-alone site at the Carle at the Fields development in southwest Champaign, replacing Destihl’s current Downtown Champaign location.
The opening is set for the summer of 2020.
