PONTIAC – Three Pontiac prison guards face criminal charges for allegedly injuring an inmate at the maximum security lock up.
A felony charge of official misconduct and a misdemanor charge of battery were filed against Lt. James Fike, Sgt. Jason Cremer, and Correctional Officer Giovanni Rodriguez.
While on duty they allegedly caused bodily harm to an inmate. Authorities are not providing other details about the incident that happened at the Pontiac prison February 3.
The charges follow an investigation by the Illinois State Police Division of Internal Investigation and the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Authorities said they arrested Fike, Cremer, and Rodriguez Sunday and Monday.
